Memorandum of Understanding between the Crown Prince Foundation and the Independent Electoral Commission

A memorandum of understanding was signed today at the IEC building between the Crown Prince Foundation and the IEC, in the presence of Dr. Tammam Manko, Executive Director of the Crown Prince Foundation, and Eng. Moussa Maayta, Chairman of the Board of Commissioners of the Commission.
The MoU aims to provide an awareness and training framework between the Crown Prince Foundation and the Independent Electoral Commission, through joint academic programs, and to enhance electoral awareness among young people, in addition to enhancing ways of cooperation between the two parties in order to raise awareness and motivate young people to engage in political parties, and to develop awareness of the course and stages of the electoral process of all kinds.
Al-Maayta stressed the keenness of the Independent Electoral Commission on the importance of cooperation with the Crown Prince Foundation, raising the awareness of young people politically, investing in technological development in employing their skills and political abilities, involving them in the formulation of party programs and enabling them to lead positive change, through the "I Participate" program, which targets university students and graduates of the program, and contributes to raising the level of youth awareness and educating them at all stages of the electoral process.
He added that the "I Participate" program is an opportunity to acquire the necessary skills and information about the electoral process, how to manage electoral campaigns, write an electoral statement, and invest social media sites in electoral advertising.
He pointed out that the Independent Electoral Commission, in cooperation with universities, is currently holding awareness sessions within the program of the first "I Participate" forum, which is one of the programs I participate / universities, and aims to integrate Jordanian youth in universities in dialogue and public work, and create a dialogue space between young people at the level of educational institutions in the governorates and the homeland, to discuss various national issues and priorities such as party work, the rule of law, national identity and respect for opinion and other opinion.
"The memorandum signed today is in line with the directives of His Royal Highness Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II, the Most Powerful Crown Prince, to encourage students to participate politically and enhance their party culture, and to complement the efforts exerted in terms of comprehensive political modernization in the Kingdom," Manko said.
"We are working at the Foundation through "I Share" to open the door for students in universities, to develop and enhance their skills in this regard, and we are very confident that the partnership with the Authority, will enable us to achieve this goal better and more effectively."
"The I Participate program was able to train and graduate more than 10,000 students until the end of the academic year 2021-2022, which shows the great impact of the program in universities, as well as the great keenness of students to benefit, participate and enhance and develop their skills at the level of political participation," Manko explained.
