Maaytah meets with the President of the Democratic Institute

The Chairman of the Board of Commissioners of the Independent Election Commission, Eng. Moussa Maaytah, met with the Vice President of the Democratic  Institute (Stephanie Rost) and her accompanying delegation, in the presence of members of the Board of Commissioners, as part of a series of meetings held by the Commission with partners of the electoral process.

During the meeting, Al-Maaytah reviewed the electoral processes managed and supervised by the Commission since its establishment, which had a great impact on enhancing citizens' confidence in the electoral process, by following sound procedures that enhanced the integrity and transparency of the electoral process.

Al-Maaytah also highlighted the most important plans and projects developed by the Commission for the coming years, related to the political modernization system, constitutional amendments, developments in the electoral and party laws, awareness and education, empowering women and youth and enhancing their participation in political lifein general and elections in particular.

Maaytah also touched on building and rooting civic culture in cooperation with the Ministry of Education and universities by preparing curricula focused on national education and working with youth, in response to the directives of His Majesty the King.

In turn, Rust thanked the Independent Election Commission for its efforts in developing and improving the electoral process and expressed its readiness to provide all forms of support to the Commission, as the delegation concluded its visit to the Commission with a tour through which it was briefed on the Commission's facilities.
