Dr. Raed Al-Adwan, member of the Board of Commissioners of the Independent Election Commission, stressed that there is no democracy without the presence of political parties, and that the new Political Parties Law No. (7) of 2022, which is one of the outputs of the Royal Committee for the Modernization of the Political System, came to be in line with the requirements of the next stage and the second centenary of the life of the Jordanian state, through the formation of programmatic political parties and thus access to partisan parliamentary governments.

This came during his participation in the  dialogue seminar organized by the Jordanian Society for Political Science  in the presence of the President of the Association, Dr. Khaled Shneikat, and a number of members of the Association and those interested in political affairs.

Al-Adwan added that the recent constitutional amendments to the Independent Election Commission Law granted the Commission the right to consider applications for the establishment of political parties and follow up on their affairs, explaining the most important amendments and additions to the Political Parties Law, which worked to empower women and youth, as the Parties Law stipulated that the percentage of women should not be less than (20%) of the percentage of founders and that the percentage of young people between the ages of (18) and (35) should not be less than (20%), and that the Commission has prepared d) Guidelines  for parties related to the application for the establishment of the party, the merger of the founding political parties, in addition to the guidelines for holding the founding conference of political parties.

With regard to the electoral law, the aggression indicated that the number of seats allocated to women (quota) in the local lists was increased to (18) seats, after their number was (15) seats  , and he also indicated that a national constituency was established consisting of (41) seats allocated to parties out of (138) _ the number of seats in the total House of Representatives  _ and by up to (30%) of the next House of Representatives (twentieth), provided that this percentage rises to (50%) of the House of Representatives (twenty-first), and then settles on (65%) In the Chamber of Deputies (XXI).

On the role of the Commission in awareness and education, Al-Adwan explained that the Commission cooperates with all partners in this field, and uses all means of awareness with a focus on social media, as theCommission recently worked to launch  the first "I Share" youth forum, which  aims to integrate Jordanian youth in universities in public dialogue, in response to the royal directives and the outputs of the Royal Committee for the Modernization of the Political System, which revolves in part around the need to activate the role of young people. b) their participation in the political, economic and social fields.
At the end of the meeting, an extensive dialogue took place in which the aggression answered the questions and inquiries of the audience.
