The Independent Election Council organizes an awareness meeting in Zarqa

The Independent Election Commission organized an awareness meeting in ZarqaGovernorate, targeting the women's sector, as part of a series of awareness meetings held by the Commission in the governorates of the capital, Irbid and Zarqa.
Dr. Abeer Dababneh, member of the Board of Commissioners of the Independent Election Commission, reviewed the establishment of the Commission, the most important tasks entrusted to it in its management of the electoral process at all stages, and the measures taken to implement transparent and impartial elections, based on the principles of justice, equality, equal opportunities and the rule of law.
She added that the recent constitutional amendments to the law of the Independent Election Commission gave the commission the authority to reviewrequests to establish political parties and follow up on their affairs.
Dababneh also reviewed the presence of women in the political and democratic arena and their participation in decision-making, indicating that the outputs of the Royal Committee for the Modernization of the Political System granted women their full political rights through the adoption of the law nowelected by parties, and the recent constitutional amendments, which were capable of empowering women in all areas of life politically, economically, and socially.
Dababneh indicated the most prominent amendments and additions to the political parties and elections laws, explaining that the number of seats allocated to women (Kota) in the local lists has been increased to 18 seats, from 15, and a national constituency has been established consisting of 41 seats allocated to parties out of 138 (the total number of seats in the House of Representatives) and by up to 30 percent in the next House of Representatives (the twentieth), provided that this percentage rises to 50 percent. in the twenty-first chamber, then settle on 65 percent in the twenty-second chamber.
