Maaytah meets with a number of donor representatives

The Chairman of the Board of Commissioners of the Independent Election Commission, Eng. Musa Al-Maaytah, met with representatives of internationalbodies and donor institutions at the Commission's building today, as a continuation of the meeting held at the Ministry of Planning to talk about practical plans for awareness in the political modernization system.
This meeting also aims to discuss the coordination mechanisms between the Commission and donors, and the support mechanism provided for the implementation of political modernization projects and to emphasize the principle of participatory work and the promotion of democracy, based on the outputs of the Royal Committee for the Modernization of the Political System.
During the meeting, Al-Maaytah reviewed the most prominent projects, activities and plans implemented by the Commission or that it intends to launch during the next stage, targeting the general electorate, especially youth and women, in addition to media and communication, with the aim of increasing political participation in areas with less youth participation, discussing opportunities and gains for women from the electoral law and the parties law, and analyzing the difficulties and obstacles to women's political participation and ways Overcoming them, in addition to increasing the efficiency of party cadres in the fields of media and electoral campaigns, and the role of the media in raising awareness of laws.
Al-Maaytah stressed the need to spread civil culture among citizens and target all segments of society, which enhances the concepts of the culture of dialogue, the rule of law, respect for opinion and other opinion, and promote the integration of youth, women and people with disabilities in theparty work system, and indicated that the Commission seeks to develop its capabilities in line with technological development and the investment of social media, with the aim of increasing the percentage of citizen participation in the electoral process, especially incities and regions witnessing low electoral participation.
The participants praised what the Authority has done so far through the (Solution is Participation) campaign, and the effective programs today in the Authority, such as the (I Share) or (Teacher Training) program, stressing their keenness to support the Authority's projects in all waysto achieve the required goals.
