Maaytah meets Sabla Al-Hassan for young people

The Chairman of the Board of Commissioners of the Independent Election Commission, Eng. Musa Al-Maaytah, met with the youth participating in Sabla Al-Hassan Youth 2022, during their visit today to the Commission, with the aim of identifying the role of the Commission in promoting participation in political life in general and elections in particular.
During the meeting, Maaytah reviewed the importance of establishing the Independent Election Commission as an independent body concerned with managing the electoral process, with the aim of ensuring that parliamentary elections are held in line with international standards. He also explained the guarantees of integrity followed by the Commission at all stages of the electoral process, starting from the presentation of schedules to the announcement of the results, which reflected positively on popular participation and enhanced citizens' confidence in the electoral process.
Al-Maaytah also indicated that the Commission is concerned with youth participation and involvement in the political process, and that the Commission is working hard to network with institutions concerned with youth work in order to enhance their participation in the political process, citing the first "I Share" youth forum, which was launched by the Commission in cooperation with the Crown Prince Foundation with the aim of integrating Jordanian youth in universities in dialogue and public work, creating a space for dialogue between young people at the level of educational institutions, andlistening to their priorities within political participation.
Al-Maaytah added that according to the recommendations emanating from the Royal Committee for the Modernization of the Political System, it has become the responsibility of the Independent Election Commission to manage political parties, and that the Commission will cooperate with Jordanian universities andeducational institutions to work on organizing the practice of partisan work within universities, and activities related to awareness and partisan education, which aims to educate young people and encourage them to engage in the political process in response to the royal directives.
An extensive discussion took place in which Maaytah answered questions and inquiries from the audience.
