Irbid education implements political school student conference

To complete the program of political school student conferences implemented by the Ministry of Education in cooperation with the Independent Electoral Commission and the Center for Life-Monitor, the Directorate of Education of Kasbah Irbid on Thursday carried out a political student conference in which 110 students participated.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Dr. Abir Al-Dabana, a member of the Board of Commissioners of the Independent Electoral Commission, spoke about the importance of this conference, which comes in line with the directions of the Jordanian state in the process of modernizing political life, and said that "it is necessary to enhance investment in the energies of Jordanian youth by supporting their participation in political life and overcoming all obstacles in front of them and seeking positive change and knowledge construction."
During her speech, Al-Dabana outlined the most important features of the party law and the election law, in addition to providing a detailed overview of the independent electoral body from its inception to the present day and its role in managing the electoral process, explaining the difference between the general list and the local list.
In the midst of her speech, she stressed the guarantee of the right of young people to access leadership positions and the empowerment of women, young people and people with disabilities in political life.
Mr. Mohammed Al-Momani, director of the Directorate of Education of Kasbah Irbid, stressed the importance of these conferences in refining the student's personality and political empowerment, and the need to involve young people in the future party life, to be the future of Jordan that we dream of, adding that "young people are the active tools in society, and we go behind the guidance of the leader in promoting their integration and involvement in political life."
The conference included dialogue sessions attended by a member of the Royal Commission for the Modernization of the Political System Engineer May Abu Adun, And Dr. Abeer Al-Dabana, member of the Board of Commissioners of the Independent Electoral Commission, and moderated the dialogue Dr. Zakaria Bani Amer, participants talked about the outcomes of the Royal Commission and what laws concern the political system and the most important changes that have taken place, and the participants discussed in their talk to the changes that have taken place on the election law, especially the reduction of the age of the candidate for 25 years and the existence of a national department dedicated to parties by 41 seats and percentage The presence of young people and women in the parties and the national party list, as they talked about the role of the Independent Electoral Commission in managing the electoral process and its future plans to integrate young people into politics, students listened to changes to the law of parties and the mechanism of their formation, and students presented a series of interactive interventions and questions during the dialogue session.
It is worth mentioning that the program of political school student conferences will be implemented in all provinces of the Kingdom and in fact 15 conferences targeting students aged 15-16 in grades 10 and 11.
