Independent election: applications for accreditation of candidates begin to be received
March 5, 2022 The Independent Electoral Commission announced the start of receiving applications for the accreditation of candidates' delegates at polling stations and counting for provincial councils, municipal councils, and the Amman Secretariat Council until the end of monday, March 7, 2022.
According to the media spokesman of the authority "Mohammed Khair" Al-Rawashdeh, it is required to be accredited as a delegate to the candidate: To be a Jordanian national, to have completed 18 years of age on the date of application for accreditation, to be accredited as an observer of the electoral process to any other party, and more than one candidate may have one delegate if there is agreement between the candidates. In accordance with the executive instructions for the accreditation of candidate delegates No. (5) for 2021 issued on the basis of the provisions of the Local Administration Act and the Amman Secretariat Act, candidates must apply for the accreditation of their delegates to enter polling stations and count at least 15 days before polling day to monitor the conduct of the electoral process in accordance with the model prepared for this purpose, with a list of delegates' names and photographs, and a copy of the personal card of each of the delegates listed. Delegates of candidates must abide by the provisions of the Constitution, legislation governing the electoral process and executive instructions issued by the Commission, carry and show the credit card throughout their stay at polling stations and counting, prevent anyone who does not carry this card from entering the polling stations, and do not carry weapons of all kinds, commit acts of violence or encourage them on polling day. In addition to cooperating with and not being exposed to other candidates' delegates, complying with the instructions of the heads and members of polling and counting committees, polling station and counting directors, not affecting the freedom of the voter or obstructing the electoral process in any way, and not exercising any kind of electoral propaganda or making any statement or action that would affect the freedom of voters within polling stations and counting on polling day, and not using a mobile phone or any means of photographing and registering inside the voting room and sorting in pieces. The Board of Commissioners of the Independent Electoral Commission has set march 22 as the date for voting for provincial councils, municipal councils and the Amman Secretariat Council.
