Independent Election publishes on its website a guide to the procedures for candidacy 

January 13, 2022  The Independent Election Commission published on its website a guide to the procedures for running for the elections of provincial councils, municipal councils, and the Amman Secretariat Council 2022, with the aim of raising awareness and making it available to the public. The guide included the number of municipalities and electoral districts in the Kingdom at the provincial level, the number of areas under the Secretariat of Oman, the names and categories of municipalities, the conditions for applying for membership of the provincial council or the presidency of the municipal council or its membership, the conditions for applying for membership of the Amman Secretariat Council, the procedures for reporting the decision to the applicant, the application fees and insurance fees to comply with the provisions relating to electoral advertising, the annexes to apply for the provincial councils and municipal councils and the Council of the Secretariat of Oman, the mechanism for submitting appeals from candidates to the courts of first instance and adjudication, and the submission of applications for provincial councils and municipal councils and the Council of the Secretariat of Oman.  Appeals from voters to accept and adjudicate the application to the trial courts, to submit applications for withdrawal from the nomination, forms of application for candidacy, withdrawal of the candidate, the approval of a financial disclosure of the candidate, the form of a special agency in addition to the daily disclosure of applications submitted to the Election Commission and a commitment to health and public safety conditions.
