Closing of the program of candidates 

January 13, 2022  The awareness and education program for young candidates in cooperation with the Democratic Institute concluded today at the Information Center of the Independent Electoral Commission in light of the commission's preparations for the elections for provincial councils, municipal councils, and the Amman Secretariat Council, which is scheduled to take place next March.  Dr. Abir Dabana, a member of the Board of Commissioners of the Authority, stressed during her sponsorship of the closing ceremony the importance of targeting young people and their involvement in the electoral process and dealing with it at all stages, which enhances their electoral awareness and motivates them to participate in the elections in candidacy, election, volunteering and exercising their rights effectively. Dabana added that the doors of the Authority are open to young people to enhance their presence in political life and invest their participation and the impact of their votes in the elections and move from the role of influencer to the role of influencer, to start and participate in decision-making, and to shape the future they aspire to. The program, in which 66 young men and women from all provinces of the Kingdom participated, dealt with many important themes in the management of the electoral process from the stage of announcing the holding of elections and determining the date of voting, through the stage of preparing and presenting the preliminary and then final tables, in addition to the stage of objecting to those tables to the stage of candidacy and electoral propaganda, and ending with polling day. Participants also praised the importance and success of these awareness meetings and gave them the opportunity to see the mechanism of the commission's work closely and interact with the procedures of the electoral process from voter registration to the announcement of results. In conclusion, certificates were handed over to the participants.
