Independent Election: Launches youth awareness program for those who want to run 

January 10, 2022  The Independent Electoral Commission today launched the activities of the youth awareness program that is willing to run for the elections of provincial councils, municipal councils, and the Amman Secretariat Council, which is scheduled to take place next March, This is in cooperation with the Jordanian Democratic Institute and lasts for four days. Dr. Abir Dabana, a member of the Board of Commissioners of the Independent Electoral Commission, reviewed the program in the presence of the directors of the directorates and the technical team of the Authority, the establishment of the authority and its role in managing the electoral process, indicating the authority's approach to partnership and openness, which reflects positively on educating young people in elections and benefiting from their experiences as trainers and trainees. "Young people play a major role in reproducing the knowledge associated with the management of the electoral process," she said, explaining that all forms of support for young people are provided and encouraged to participate in elections in candidacy, election, and volunteering. The main focus of the programme is the legal framework governing the electoral process, the electoral cycle, voter, and candidate registration, voting procedures and integrity guarantees, as well as the role of young people in the electoral process, monitoring of electoral propaganda, information and elections, technology and elections, digital media, and elections.
