The conclusion of the training program for students at the University of Jordan in The Independent election
January 6, 2022 Dr. Khaled Kalalda, Chairman of the Board of Commissioners of the Independent Electoral Commission, stressed the importance of the role played by young people in political life in general and elections in particular, while calling on young people to be tools of change for the better, as well as to invest in technical development and the revolution of communications and the Internet politically, culturally, socially, and economically. This came at the conclusion of the training program organized by the Independent Electoral Commission in cooperation with the University of Jordan. Dr. Mohammed Qatatasha/ University of Jordan also praised the efforts made by the Independent Electoral Commission in training university students and informing them about the procedures of the electoral process at all stages and the nature of the work of the Authority between the electoral cycles. The students participating in the program reviewed the research study prepared by them under the title "Political Participation in accordance with the recommendations of the Royal Commission for the Modernization of the Political System", which aimed to show the impact of the recommendations of the Royal Commission on participation in the electoral process, in addition to identifying the impact of the development of political parties in accordance with the recommendations of the Royal Commission. Students also presented the obstacles to women's participation in politics, as well as the reasons for the poor political participation of young people, and the success of the recommendations of the Royal Commission for the Modernization of the Political System in modifying the behaviour of community groups in political participation. The study also targeted a sample of 622 students at the University of Jordan in various faculties to study the impact of the opinions of young people in the political process and the outcomes of the Royal Commission in terms of recommendations, in addition to measuring the impact of the university environment on political awareness among students
