Clarification from the Independent Electoral Commission
The Independent Electoral Commission explained in a statement that Article 6 (3) of the Amman Secretariat Act No. 18 of 2021 and Article (39) A (3) of the Local Administration Act No. (22) of 2021 stipulated that anyone who wishes to run for the provincial council, the presidency of the municipal council or its membership must submit his resignation 60 days before the date of candidacy if he is an employee or employee of any
Ministry or government department or official public institution or public institution or municipality or Arab, regional, or international body and the municipal lawyer wishing to run for the presidency of the municipal council or its membership to terminate his contract with her during this period
The Amman Secretariat Act also stipulates that anyone who wishes to run for the Amman Secretariat Council must submit his resignation 30 days before the start of the nomination date if he is a member of the National Assembly, an employee or an employee of any ministry, government department, public official institution, public institution, municipality, Arab, regional or international body, and a contractor with the secretariat wishing to run for membership of the Council to terminate his contract with her during this period.
The provision of the two articles mentioned above includes a retirement applicant who has not been issued with a retirement decision, with whom the retirement applicant must resign as indicated above for the purposes of candidacy in accordance with the aforementioned time periods.
