The Independent Election Commission: affiliation with parties for at least one year is a condition for obtaining the scholarship

The Independent Election Commission announced that the condition that the applicant must be affiliated with a Jordanian political party to obtain a scholarship within the allocated seats defines that the period of membership in the party be equal to or more than a full year. This should be according to a letter from the party’s leadership that is certified by the Ministry of Political and Parliamentary Affairs.
Dr. Khaled Al-Kalaldeh, Chairman of the Board of Commissioners of the Independent Election Commission, met a few days ago with general secretaries and representatives of political parties at the commission’s building, and presented them with the specifications of scholarships for the Higher Diploma in Electoral Policies and Management Program, in cooperation with the University of Jordan. It was done with the parties’ agreement, after the commission consulted the parties on this issue. The result of the parties’ voting was as follows: 18 parties voted that the term of affiliation be a year or more, 16 parties voted that the term of affiliation be three months, 13 parties voted that the term of affiliation be six months, and two parties voted not to specify a time period for party affiliation.
Note that 41 parties out of the 49 parties that were invited by the commission attended the meeting.
