The Independent Election Commission Meets with Several Local Supervisory Authorities that Issued Their Reports for the 2020 Elections

The Independent Election Commission met with several local supervisory authorities that issued their supervisory reports on the general Parliamentary Elections of the 19th Council 2020, intending to discuss the recommendations and observations contained in the reports of these bodies regarding the conduct of the electoral process, in the Commission’s interest to continue the policy of openness to the partners of the electoral process.
The Commission stressed the importance of the supervisors’ role in the elections as they are one of the guarantees of integrity, explaining that it has studied all the observations contained in the reports of the supervisory authorities and that it will deal with them in a way that contributes to improving the electoral process, and that it has responded to all the reports received and worked on producing a matrix that includes all supervisors’ notes.
The Commission stressed as well the need to review the executive instructions regulating the work of the supervisors, and called on the supervisory authorities, being the concerned party, to submit their observations such as to develop the supervisory work and ensure access to professionalism in the performance of the supervisory reports.
An extensive discussion took place by the end of the meeting between the Commission and the local supervisory authorities participating in the meeting.
