Al-Kalaldeh: Preparing Trainers Specialized in Electoral Management

Dr. Khaled Al-Kalaldeh, Chairman of the Board of Commissioners of the Independent Electoral Commission, stressed the importance of training employees working in elections in order to develop their abilities to be qualified and specialized in managing the electoral process at all stages according to the criteria that guarantee justice and equal opportunities.

 This came during the opening of the LEAD program for the training of trainers to develop the leadership capabilities of electoral stakeholders in the presence of the Board of Commissioners and the Commission’s Secretary General.

 According to Al-Kalaldeh, the program aims at developing long-term leadership capabilities on electoral issues, providing electoral stakeholders with extensive experience in conflict management throughout the election cycle, and ensuring that they are able to train other participants in the future in an independent manner.

 He added that this program aims to achieve sustainability in the transfer of knowledge through the implementation of comprehensive training courses, which interspersed various stages of professional accreditation, with the participation of (20) participants from inside and outside the Commission. It lasts for seven days, after which the participant will be given an authorized trainer certificate.

It is worth mentioning that the LEAD program for the development of the leadership capacities of electoral stakeholders includes (training of trainers for three consecutive training levels), in addition to holding leadership courses for those concerned with the electoral affairs in Jordan and the Arab world, in order to comply with the Institute of Electoral Administrations’ training project in the Independent Electoral Commission.
