IEC Holds Two Symposiums in Amman and Jerash

IEC has held two awareness raising seminars in the governorates of the capital (South Amman) and Jerash, in cooperation with All Jordan Youth Commission, in light of the Commission’s keenness to communicate with the electoral process partners in different sectors.
Dr. Zuhair Abu Fares, a member of the Board of Commissioners of IEC, has emphasized during his meeting with a number or All Jordan Youth Commission’ members in AL-Qawasmeh in South Amman, the importance of youth participation in all electoral process phases as candidates, voters and volunteers the matter that helped in the democratic development and political reform.
Abu Fares also referred to the use of technology in the electoral process starting from the registration process and candidacy until the announcement of the results, which contributed in the development and integrity of the electoral process.
Whereas in Jerash, Samar Haj Hasan, a member of the Board of Commissioners of IEC, has reviewed the establishment of the Commission, its achievements, and its mechanism in administrating the various electoral processes; parliamentary, municipal, provincial councils, chambers of industry, and chambers of commerce. She also emphasized the openness of the Commission and its communication with the various electoral departments and the exchange of expertise among them which participated in the development of the electoral process.
Haj Hasan has explained the most important challenges that faced the Commission at the beginning, stressing the sustainability of the Commission’s work and its independence as a national institution that has accomplished many achievements and was able to restore the citizens’ confidence in the electoral process.
