Cooperation Agreement between IEC and USAID

A joint cooperation agreement has been signed on Tuesday in Amman between IEC and USAID, aiming at enhancing the prospects of cooperation between the two parties and support the projects designed by the Commission to enhance the political representation and support the democratic process and the Commission’s programs related to the improvement of the electoral process according to the best global standards.

In the presence of the members of the Board of Commissioners and a number of the delegation’s senior officers, the agreement has been signed on behalf of IEC by Dr. Khaled Al-Kalaldeh, Chairman of the Board of Commissioners, and on behalf of USAID by the Chargé d’Affaires of the Chairman of the delegation in Jordan.  

In a brief statement, Al-Kalaldeh emphasized the importance of the agreement that comes to support several pioneering projects that promote and consolidate the principles of integrity, impartiality and independence through the adoption of various financial resources by the Commission.

Al-Kalaldeh thanked USAID for its support to develop the infrastructure of IEC.

One of the most important projects that will be supported by USAID under the agreement is the solar energy project related to the Commission’s building, and the establishment of a developed media center and two printing presses one of them to be a Braille printing press.
