Launch Awareness and Civic Education Workshop for Schools in IEC

IEC launched today the training workshop for the coordinators of civic education in Jordanian schools, in cooperation with the Democratic Institute, as part of the project “I Participate".

The workshop handles several factors related to the electoral process; the legislative framework of IEC; international agreements; the right to vote; youth role in the electoral process; and electoral propaganda, awareness, education, voting, and counting. 

It is worth to mention that this workshop targets students of the Jordanian public schools, (295) schools, in all the Kingdom’s governorates, due to the importance of schools in raising electoral awareness. The workshop is an opportunity to introduce the youth to the importance of participation in political life in general and elections in particular, as well as to enable them to understand their rights and duties, moreover; to integrate a generation that understands the democratic process and is qualified to practice it in the future.
