Al-Kalaldeh Meets Daily Newspapers’ Columnists

Dr. Khaled Al-Kalaldeh, IEC Chairman of the Board of Commissioners, has met a number of Jordanian daily newspapers’ columnists during a series of meetings held by the Commission with journalists and media members in the light of the openness policy adopted by the Commission with the electoral process partners. 

 Al-Kalaldeh reviewed the recent most important achievements of the Commission such as training staff and equipping them with the necessary training skills. He pointed out that the Commission has held several training courses for youth sectors in political parties, focusing on several issues related to conflict management, negotiation and conflict strategies, mediation for electoral process partners and international and regional legal agreements.

He added; the Commission has worked on the evaluation of cadres’ trainers and electronic linkage system in order to update and strengthen the database of trainers in this area and identify the actual need for them. The Commission has also implemented a comprehensive program to assess trainers on the electoral process in all stages, within the database aimed at preparing and equipping cadres working in elections, developing their technical abilities and transferring knowledge to all polling and counting committees participating in the elections.

 During the meeting a wide discussion has been carried out, in which Al-Kalaldeh listened to the notes of columnists and answered the questions and inquiries of the attendees, followed by a tour in IEC building and facilities, training workshops and IEC information center.
