Safadi and Maaytah: We have great responsibilities that require moving in an equation aimed at integration for the higher national interest

The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Ahmed Al-Safadi, received in his office today, Sunday, the Chairman of the Board of Commissioners of theIndependent Authority for Elections, Eng. Musa Al-Maaytah, in the presence of members of the Permanent Bureau in the House of Representatives and members of the Commission's Board of Commissioners.
Safadi and Maaytah stressed that the state authorities and institutions have great tasks ahead of them on the road to completing the comprehensive reform process and achieving the royal vision, which included an integrated national project, to complete the steps to modernize our political, economic, and administrative system.
Safadi said that the House of Representatives will start its work in the next phase, based on the contents affirmed by His Majesty the King in the throne speech, in a way that contributes to improving performance and meeting the desires and aspirations of our dear people.
He said that the Council is keen to cooperate with the various authorities and institutions of the State, as the future responsibilities are great and require following an equation whose title and goal is integration for the sake of the supreme national interest.
Safadi stressed that the independent commission is nowfacing a national responsibility, after the recent constitutional amendments entrusted the commission with the task of considering requests to establish political parties and following up on their affairs.
Safadi praised the role of the Commission and the great development in its work, which received a royal honor recently for its role in improving the management of the electoral process and advancing the institutionalization of the Commission and praised the role of the Commission and its success in supervising the recent elections of the Chambers of Industry, stressing that Al-Maaytah has accumulated experiences that will achieve more successes for the Commission.
For his part, Al-Maaytah stressed that the Commission is committed to carrying out its constitutional responsibilities in the application of the electoral and party laws with integrity and impartiality, and that this visit comes as an affirmation of the importance of joint coordination between all constitutional state institutions in the upcoming stage, which aims to strengthen party work and participation in parliamentary elections, aswell as to party program blocs in the next House of Representatives.
Maaytah stressed that the Independent Election Authority carries out its work away from political debates to which it will not be a party as an executive body for the provisions of the Parties Law, and that it thus serves the visions of His Majesty the King in modernizing thepolitical system by achieving the principle of expanding the base of popular participation in decision-making.
Al-Maaytah stressed that the ballot box is the accurate measure of voters' choices, and everyone must rationalize political dialogue by participating in the elections and producing representatives of political and social forces, which contributes to achieving advanced steps on the map of comprehensive and desired modernization in the work of authorities and institutions.
