Independent Election: Launch of the workshop introducing the election law

The workshop on the new election law was launched today at the Independent Electoral Commission and in cooperation with the Jordanian Electoral Institute, with the aim of raising awareness, education and reversing the procedures for the electoral process at all stages and in accordance with the law.
During the opening of the workshop, The Chairman of the Board of Commissioners of the Independent Electoral Commission, Engineer Musa Al-Maaita, stressed the importance of spreading awareness and electoral education among the staff of the Authority and explaining the contents of the election laws and parties and then starting with the partners of the electoral process in order to promote participation in the elections and support the process of democratic reform.
The week-long workshop dealt with several topics related to the legal framework governing the electoral process in terms of electoral districting, seat distribution, registration, candidacy and results.
The Authority will carry out an awareness campaign and educate and work to spread it widely to all groups of society in order to educate citizens and enable them to exercise their rights to vote, through the holding of workshops and dialogue meetings that will address the basic concepts of election laws and political parties, which contributes to increasing knowledge of the electoral framework.
