Independent Election invites political parties to see the guidelines posted on their website
The Independent Election Commission has invited political parties to see the guidelines and models for political parties adopted, which the Commission published on its website before the law came into force on 15 May 2022.
The evidence posted on the Authority's website included a guide to the reconciliation of political parties, which stipulates that the founding parties must reconcile their situation within no more than one year of the effective date of the Party Law, by holding a general conference provided that at least 1,000 members of the party at the time of the General Conference are held, and that the members are residents of at least 6 provinces, so that they number at least (30) people from each province so that the place of residence is adopted. The participation rate of young people, women and persons with disabilities is taken into account in accordance with the Law of Political Parties.
The Authority also published on its website the guide to the integration of the founding political parties, which states that if one or more existing parties wish to integrate, a meeting of party members (founders and associates) wishing to merge must be held with the consent of the majority of those present for each party's conference, and the delegation of the party's executive leaders to merger procedures.
As for the guide to applying for the establishment of a new political party, it is stated in the law that at least 300 Jordanians wishing to establish a party are entitled to apply in writing to the Registrar by filling out the application form for the establishment of a political party signed by the founders, mobilizing a signed devolution bond from the founding members in favor of three of them to apply for establishment, and the satisfaction of a justice agency through which the three authorized founders choose one of them to be a representative of the founders before the register to follow up on the register. The Authority also published on its website the guide to holding the founding conference of political parties, where the party holds a constituent conference within a period of not more than one year from the date of the completion of the establishment requirements by providing the Registrar under a written book so that the book includes a disclosure of the names of the founding members 30 days before the date of the founding conference (paper and electronic) to be audited by the register and approved by the Council of Commissioners in addition to announcing the date, date and venue of the constituent conference.
