The Chairman of the Board of Commissioners of the Independent Electoral Commission said that the commission has received the file of parties in response to constitutional amendments and laws governing political action arising from the outputs of the Royal Commission for the Modernization of the Political System, explaining that the role of the commission is to apply the law and not interfere in the policies of independent parties in their decisions.
Al-Maaita stressed in an interview with a number of journalists that he made sure that his first meeting with journalists was a belief in the importance of the media message and his role as a real partner in promoting popular participation and confidence in the electoral process, in addition to the importance of conveying the activities and activities of the Authority and its messages as part of the basic transparency approach in the work of the Authority.
Al-Maaita reviewed the most prominent roles that the Authority will play in the next phase, including holding a series of meetings with all relevant partners in the electoral process during May and June to see their observations to conclude the development of the work of the Commission, as well as work on a comprehensive assessment of the recent electoral process, knowing the places of power and identifying the places of defects if any, and the Authority will be keen to review the executive instructions governing electoral processes and research ways to develop them and adapt them to amendments to the relevant laws.
Al-Maaita also announced that the Authority is preparing to launch a comprehensive awareness campaign for all developments in the laws governing us through which we seek to raise awareness in cooperation with all relevant partners, and is working on a special strategy to empower women electorally and support their participation in a free candidacy and election away from pressures, as well as to prepare a special strategy to spread awareness among young people and support their participation in party work and in electoral processes nominated, elected and volunteered, including the follow-up to the implementation of the program (I participate) which aims to spread the party culture, which aims to spread the party culture. Among university students, the authority's tasks are also to follow up the work of the Electoral Institute in partnership with the University of Jordan, develop the institutional capabilities of the Authority, follow up on jordan's work and role in the Arab Organization of Electoral Departments and its networks and develop relations with regional and international partner institutions.
Al-Maaita announced the opening of the unity of parties, which comes in response to the recent constitutional amendments and important developments in the legislation, which followed the recent constitutional amendments, which expanded the powers of the commission to include political parties, and this reflected on the legislation concerned, where the unit of political parties will begin to receive the requests of the parties and follow up their files, explaining that the authority will be keen to provide all facilities to political parties and amenities and participatory in the relationship with the authority.
Al-Maaita said that the authority is keen on its neutrality in the relationship with the parties, it does not interfere with its own political orientations and only follows it up as stipulated in the law, and will strive to educate its youth cadres and transfer knowledge to them in order to motivate parties to participate actively politically to benefit from what was recently issued in the outputs of the Royal Commission for Modernization and Development, which fully supported the parties.
He stressed that the party funding system will be supervised by the commission without interfering in the independence of the parties or their political positions and adhering to what the law demands, and that the commission will be keen to support political parties in their election campaigns to be the measure of the strength of the party is the amount of popular acceptance of it.
