Independent Electoral Commission meets civil society institutions in Zarqa

Dr. Zuhair Abu Fares, a member of the Board of Commissioners of the Independent Electoral Commission, reviewed the authority's procedures in raising awareness and education, especially with civil society institutions, as part of a series of meetings with its partners in this field, as part of the application of the approach of communication and communication, informing citizens of their political rights and enabling all groups of society to exercise their right to run and elect. Abu Fares said the commission has given volunteers space in the electoral process with the aim of engaging young people in political life in general and elections in particular, which promotes the process of political reform and establishes a generation capable of keeping up with political developments and working to advance political reform. Abu Fares also showed the measures followed by the Commission to make it easier for persons with disabilities to exercise their electoral right, as the Commission has set up model polling stations that are in line with their physical potential, gave them priority in voting and allowed voters who are unable to exercise their right to vote themselves to choose facilities to assist them. At the end of the meeting, there was an extensive dialogue in which the Commission answered questions from the audience.
