MoU ECES-IEC-SSSA

The Independent Electoral Commission (IEC) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the European Center for Electoral Support (ECES) and Sant’Anna School for Advanced Studies (SSSA) with a view to consolidate the cooperation between the three institutions.

According to Dr. Khaled Al-Kalaldeh, Chairman of the Board of Commissioners of the Commission, this trilateral agreement aims at granting Master Degrees in Elections to employees and those interested in this field and related bodies. It also commits the three institutions to further enhance their role in the electoral and democratic process and cooperation in matters of common interest, including electoral knowledge production, development of learning strategies and implementation of capacity building initiatives, research and exchange of experiences, as well as promotion of training courses and electoral process offers.

He added that this agreement will facilitate access to innovative and customized electoral knowledge and its implementation in favor of the IEC Regional Training Center, which is meant to become a regional center of electoral knowledge and capacity development in Jordan and beyond.

It is worth mentioning that this trilateral cooperation comes within the framework of the EU-funded program “EU Support to Jordanian Democratic Institutions and Development", which aims at supporting the reform process in Jordan.
