Meeting in IEC to Discuss EU EOM Recommendations

Dr. Khaled Kalaldeh, Chairman of the Board of Commissioners of the Independent Electoral Commission, stressed that the presence of European Union Election Observation Mission (EU EOM) is one of the guarantees of integrity in the electoral process. This came during a meeting held in the Commission’s building with the related official bodies aiming at discussing the recommendations of the Observation Mission of the parliamentary elections 2016.

Al-Kalaldeh added that the Commission has studied the Mission’s report regarding the recommendations and observations, and will implement what is possible based on the analysis of the European Union Mission, which included the legal framework, procedures of the electoral process and electoral campaigns, media, polling, counting and results announcement.

Al-Kalaldeh praised the EU Mission efforts and its follow-up to the electoral process in all phases with integrity impartiality, stressing that its presence to monitor the parliamentary elections 2016 came as a response to the IEC invitation received by the EU Mission.

European Union Mission has praised the Commission’s efforts and its ability to administrate the electoral process, stressing the importance of coordination and cooperation between the two to serve the electoral process in all its phases.

During the course of a full day, The interlocutors discussed the most important observations and recommendations stated in the Mission’s report for the 2016 parliamentary elections, which will contribute to the development and amelioration of the electoral process and help to enhance the advantages and avoid the negatives in the future
