Abu Fares: Jordan Seeks Being the First to Obtain ISO Certificate in Elections

Dr. Zuhair Abu Fares, a member in the Board of Commissioners of IEC, emphasized that Jordan in the first country in the Arab region that seeks obtaining an international credibility in the field of elections.

He added, obtaining and international credibility with contribute to strengthening Jordan’s position as a Regional Training Center specialized in elections, which will be reflected positively on increasing the Commission’s efficiency and the quality of electoral process according to the highest international standards of quality.

This came during the graduation ceremony of the IEC staff of the commission’s various departments, participating in the program of the procedures of obtaining international accreditation (ISO) related to the process of quality control of the electoral administrations.

It is worth mentioning that IEC is a member of the International Labor Committee (WG4) concerned with quality standards of the electoral administrations, based in Washington (OAS).
