Independent for Election: Prohibition of electoral advertising in industry and trade elections except when submitting applications for candidacy
30 Jul 2022
The Independent Electoral Commission (IEC) announced that the executive instructions for electoral advertising for the elections of the boards of directors of the chambers of industry and the elections of representatives of the industrial sectors; and the elections for the boards of directors of chambers of commerce and representatives of commercial sectors stipulate that the authorization of the practice of electoral advertising begins on the day of submission of applications for candidacy on the date set by the Commission for each election.
The Commission explained that the practice of any electoral propaganda before that is considered contrary to the instructions and must be removed immediately; and that it will form field teams to monitor and follow up any electoral irregularities in this regard.
