Independent election: (4820) application for candidacy for provincial councils, municipal councils, and Amman Secretariat Council  

February 09, 2022 The Chairman of the Board of Commissioners of the Independent Electoral Commission, Dr. Khalid Al-Kalda, announced the closure of the nomination for the elections for provincial councils, municipal councils, and the Amman Secretariat Council at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday, February 9, 2022. According to Kallada, the number of applications submitted to the Authority on the last day of candidacy amounted to 607 applications, including (446) males and (161) females, while the total number of applications submitted to the Authority during the period of candidacy (161) 4820) applications, of whom (3,953) are male, with 82.01% and 867 females, with a ratio of (17.99%), divided as follows:   Number of applications for provincial councils (1,048), including (891) males, and (157)  Females, while 572 applications for mayor (572) were all male, 3,089 were female, 2,396 were male and 693 were female, and 111 were female. 
 
He explained that according to the executive instructions for running for the elections of provincial councils, municipal councils and the Amman Secretariat Council for 2021, the Board of Commissioners decides to apply for admission or rejection within seven days of the day after the end of the period of application for nomination, knowing that the election committee informs the applicant or his agent of the decision of the Board of Commissioners in writing to accept the application or reject it with a statement of reasons in case of rejection on the address specified by the candidate for notification, and the decision of the Board of Commissioners shall be subject to appeal before the The courts of first instance if the rejected requests wish to object. 
 
On 7 August 2022, the Board of Commissioners of the Independent Electoral Commission set dates for applications during official working hours.
