Independent Election Meets West Irbid Private Services Association
February 5, 2022 As part of its preparations for the elections for provincial councils, municipal councils and the Amman Secretariat Council scheduled for March, the Independent Electoral Commission and in cooperation with the program "I participate" held a dialogue meeting with the West Irbid Private Services Association to address many topics and issues related to all stages of the electoral process. Nasser al-Habashneh, director of electoral operations at the Independent Electoral Commission, reviewed the commission's preparations and management of the electoral process and its role in spreading electoral awareness and education and motivating citizens to participate in the elections and carry out all measures to ensure free and fair elections. Habashneh also explained the voting mechanism for persons with disabilities who are unable to vote themselves so that priority is given to voting for voters with disabilities, the elderly and pregnant women, and allows voters with disabilities who are unable to exercise their right to vote themselves to choose facilities to assist them, adding that the Commission has prepared model centres for persons with disabilities to enable them to exercise their right to vote easily and easily. In response to questions from the audience, Habashneh addressed the health safety measures taken by the Authority to maintain the safety of citizens and participants in the elections under the Corona pandemic at all stages of the electoral process.
